Now, we are looking for an experienced VP (APAC) to lead our regional journey and make Whalebone the leading DNS cybersecurity provider in Asia Pacific.

  

Responsibilities

  • Build, shape, and lead Whalebone’s Aura regional strategy and regional team in APAC, driving revenue growth and market penetration across Southeast Asia and beyond (excluding India and South Asia).
  • Build and manage a regional sales organization across our hubs in Manila, Bangkok, and Hanoi — leading Account Executives, CSMs, GTM specialists, and tech consultants.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with telcos and CSPs at executive level, opening new revenue opportunities and expanding existing business.
  • Own the regional P&L, making decisions on investments, marketing, and incentives to maximize sustainable growth.
  • Drive new customer acquisition and existing customer expansion, with upselling and cross-selling responsibilities in line with our global commercial strategy.
  • Represent Whalebone in the telco ecosystem — shaping messaging, speaking at industry events, and ensuring our partners clearly see the commercial value of Aura.
  • Collaborate with global leadership: Work closely with the SVP Sales and peers in EMEA, LATAM, and North America to ensure best practice sharing and aligned execution.

      

Requirements

  • Proven telecom experience: 7+ years in sales, business development, or partnerships within the telecommunications or telco supplier industry.
  • Leadership background: Track record of building and leading multicultural sales teams of at least 5+ people in complex regional environments.
  • Commercial acumen: Strong knowledge of CSP business models, value-added services (OTT-TV, EPP, cloud), and the ability to demonstrate ROI to partners.
  • Strategic communicator: Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence C-level decision makers across cultures.
  • Hands-on driver: Willingness to travel 7–14 days a month to maintain close customer engagement.
  • Languages: Excellent English plus at least one APAC language (Thai, Vietnamese, etc.) for local market engagement.
